The usBIM.dataquality workflow is based on the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) quality management cycle, an iterative approach that ensures control and continuous improvement of digital information throughout the entire lifecycle of the asset.

  • Plan (Planning) - definition of information requirements: the client or BIM manager sets BIM objectives, use cases and Level of Information Need (LOIN) for elements and phases, creating consistent specifications and key documents such as the Exchange Information Requirements (CI/EIR) and BIM Execution Plan (pGI/BEP).
  • Do (Execute) - implementation in models:the requirements are translated into property templates, eliminating manual errors and ensuring correct properties, units and values in the models.
  • Check (Verify) – automated validation: the platform generates checking rules to be exported to Solibri, BIMcollab ZOOM, desite MD, simplebim and other checkers, in order to verify that IFC models contain all the required information in a structured and compliant way.
  • Act – use and improvement: validated models become reliable for 4D, 5D, operation and maintenance applications (CAFM/CMMS). In addition, feedback and lessons learned are collected in the cloud to refine future requirements, following a continuous improvement approach
