Link the architectural model objects to price list items

No need to add on other estimating software solutions or additional plug-ins. Simply extract the necessary dimension information to estimate costs directly from the 3D entities of the project. In Edificius Cost Estimating Environment:

  • select 3D BIM Model objects and drag and drop them to the Estimating environment to read relevant geometrical data which is then inserted in the cost estimate document and then shown in a typical cost Estimate form
  • search for items in your own Price List or Price book documents usually adopted for your quantity take off tasks
  • simply assign cost items to architectural elements, choose a work section category to organize your project BoQ/Cost estimate document and choose the most appropriate measurement model from the archive to speed up the whole process.

You’ll immediately get a detailed BoQ/Cost Estimate data row for each object present in the BIM model formed of descriptions, measurements, detracted measurements, BIM entity Ids and total amounts.

Update the project cost estimate in real time even while modifying the architectural Model

With Edificius there’s no need to worry about manually updating the measurements used in the BoQ.

Price book or job items are dynamically linked to the architectural BIM Model so that all Cost Estimate related data is updated automatically with each variation.

Thanks to the dynamic link between the BIM Model-BoQ/Estimate, you also have an improved visual control over those entities that still need to be accounted for.

By selecting the 3D entity in the BoQ/cost estimate section, you’ll visually be able to see:

  • objects with the same characteristics yet to be added to the BoQ (in yellow)
  • entities already included in the BoQ (in green)

Thanks to this dynamic interaction between the Model and the BoQ/Estimate, quantities and costs, 3D Model objects and their position in the model (building, floor, room, etc.), are always tracked and referenced so that you have full control over project costs during all phases of design and above all, in relation to each variation.

Print and export your Bill of Quantities/Cost Estimate in standard formats and integrate with PriMus, the software for Bill of Quantities and Construction Cost Management

After generating your architectural project’s bill of quantities, you have full freedom to print or export it in many well-known file formats such as Word, Excel, HTML and PDF.

Export the BoQ document in the PriMus *.DCF format and share it with your project collaborators and colleagues for further integration.

The integration with PriMus allows you to take advantage extra power and the extended management features that may come in to be useful when dealing with larger BIM projects.

Open your BoQ/cost estimate files, created using Edificius and continue adding measurement info in PriMus, updating its structure, editing measurements and also add rate analysis info with the Rate Analysis tools.
